Title: Therapist

Intersecting identities that inform my practice: I find it important to acknowledge my privilege as a white and able-bodied individual while also being identified as transgender, non-binary, and queer.

Background & Approach: I have been working in the field of social work for three years, and clinically for one in varied settings with youth, young adults, and adults. As a result of my lived experiences, I have a passion for mental health that drove me towards the field and the study of social work. I value the connection I have with my clients as the center of the work we do together. My goal in working with LGBTQ+ folks is to help my community find self-acceptance, queer joy, and a fully integrated, connected self. Attachment and narrative based theory, paired with queer and anti-oppressive theories are the foundations of my work. During my social work degree studies, I focused on therapy interventions for the LGBTQ+ community. This led me to a deep understanding of intersectionalities and the importance of continuing my inner work to show up for my clients with cultural humility. I believe we heal in connection and relationship as humans, and value being able to journey alongside my clients in the therapeutic relationship as they heal.

Theoretical & Clinical Orientation: My theoretical approach is rooted in the use of: Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Transgender-Affirmative CBT (TA-CBT), Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Anti-Oppressive Theory, Queer Theory, and Trauma-Informed Theory.

Licensure, Certifications, & Fellowships: Clinical Social Work Candidate (SWC. 0000001335)

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver, 2022

  • Master of Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver, 2023

Clinical Specializations: LGBTQ+ Therapeutic Interventions, Youth and Young Adults, Adults

Outside of Work: I love spending time with my three cats, two dogs, spouse, and children. Most of my free time is spent with my community, cooking or eating good food, enjoying music, and/or getting outside.
