Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence based, effective treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety as well as many other concerns that bring people into therapy. The EMDR therapist supports clients in processing traumatic memories by focusing on the memory while using bilateral stimulation (BLS) through eye movement, tones or tapping.

EMDR Intensives

EMDR intensives are a specialized form of EMDR that can help clients to condense their trauma treatment into a shorter period of time.  EMDR intensives allow clients to work through what is troubling them more quickly than ongoing weekly therapy sessions.

EMDR has been shown to be effective in treating a wide range of trauma-related symptoms, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Eating disorders

  • Chronic pain

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

    FAQs

What does an EMDR intensive look like?

I offer full day (6 hours) or half day (3 hours) intensives. Full day intensives usually start at 10AM, break for a half hour lunch around 1PM and end around 5PM with breaks as needed throughout the day. Half day intensives are scheduled in 3.5 hour blocks to allow for breaks during the process. Before the intensive we will schedule a 90 minute session for history taking, treatment planning and resourcing.

Can I continue individual therapy while doing EMDR?

Absolutely! EMDR can be a helpful add on to ongoing therapy to focus specifically on trauma and trauma related symptoms.

How much does EMDR cost?

  • Ongoing 90 minute sessions: $300

  • Half day intensive: $600

  • Full day intensive: $1200

*Please note - Insurance does not cover EMDR intensives, but we are happy to provide a Superbill which may allow for partial reimbursement.
