The Current Climate

In a society that has cut diversity out of the fabric of its intricate scaffolding, businesses and organizations are more and more seeing the value of expanding their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices. The diverse workforce of people who make up your organization and spend the majority of their weekly time working for you, are searching for belonging and being reflected. Umbrella Collective is growing in the areas of consulting with these organizations and businesses to lay the groundwork conversations necessary to progress in this direction. Through individualized consultation packages of ongoing work, and one time experiential workshops, Umbrella Collective DEI Facilitators help guide any organization (for profit and nonprofits) to navigate difficult conversations in intersectional inclusion, equity, diversity, and belonging.

Companies that embrace diversity and inclusion in all aspects of their business statistically outperform their peers.

How It Works

Umbrella Collective offers remote and in-person DEI training and consulting services for organizations that are seeking to expand awareness among their employees and cultivate a culture of inclusion and belonging for employees and clients. In our DEI trainings and workshops, attendees will learn affirming language, common misconceptions that lead to harmful events, in addition to inclusive practices and policies to demonstrate ally-ship and eliminate discrimination in the workplace. We will also examine the impact that privileged and marginalized intersectional identities (race, gender, ability/disability, and socio-economic status) have on work place bias, safety, and obstacles to career advancement.

Get Started

We offer a fee structure that varies depending on the type of business (nonprofit, small business, midsize business, Fortune 500 business), number of participants, location of services (video conference vs. in-person), and expertise required. We also have a network of trusted colleagues we can refer you to if a particular specialization is required that we do not have. Generally, organizations ready for ongoing work commit for a time period (6-months to one year at a time), and companies who are looking for singular project-based work pay a one-time fee for the training. All invoicing will include time spent in prep, training, video recording and storage, travel, and any other needed accommodation costs. We do not charge you for the prep time it takes to understand your particular business, just for the time in customizing a ready-to-go card deck.
